1 tsp active dry yeast
2 c bread flour
2 tbsp powdered milk
1 tbsp sugar
1 tsp salt
1/4 c vegetable oil
1 egg
1/2 c water

1 medium onion, chopped
1 tsp vegetable oil
1 garlic clove, minced
1/2 lb ground beef
1/2 c mashed potatoes
1/4 tsp salt
1/8 tsp ground black pepper

add all ingredients for the dough in the order suggested by your bread machine. use dough cycle.
meanwhile, saute the onion in the oil in a nonstick skillet over medium high heat until translucent, about 3 min. add the garlic and ground beef. cook, stirring to break up any lumps, until the meat is no longer pink, 2 to 3 min. remove from heat and stir in the mashed potatoes, salt, and pepper. let cool to room temp.
at the end of the dough cycle, remove the dough from the machine. on a floured board with a floured rolling pin, roll out the dough 1/8 inch thick or thinner. be sure it is not sticking to the work surface. witha 2 to 2 1/2 inch thick cookie cutter or glass, cut out circles. place about 1/2 tbsp filling on the left side of each circle, about 1/4 inch in from the edge. fold the right side over left and pinch the edges tightly together to seal. gather up scraps, reroll and cut and fill any remaining filling.
let rise in a draftfree place 15 min. in a large non stick skillet, cook in 2 or 3 batches over med-low heat 8 to 10 min. or til golden brown. turn and cook til golden on other side, 5 to 7 min. eat warm
